I’m getting excited about spring because that means it’s almost hiking season! I am fortunate to live close to the amazing Canadian Rocky Mountains, and world famous Banff National Park and spend a lot of time hiking. There are many beautiful areas to explore in Alberta and British Columbia and an almost endless amount of hikes to try.
Banff is amazing and is the most well-known Canadian mountain destination, but other mountain areas such as Kananaskis, Canmore, Waterton Lakes and Yoho National Park are also well worth a visit. These less busy areas also have a plethora of incredible hikes, outdoor activities, pristine lakes, glittering waterfalls, epic views, and rugged mountain beauty.
I have put together a series of some of my favourite hikes in the Canadian Rockies, and graded them on difficulty level and provided some helpful details to help you choose one that is right for you. Here are my 14 favourite hikes!
