I’m getting excited about spring because that means it’s almost hiking season! I am fortunate to live less than a 2-hour drive from the amazing Canadian Rocky Mountains, and world famous Banff National Park.
Banff is amazing and is the most well-known Canadian mountain destination, but other mountain areas such as Kananaskis, Canmore, Waterton Lakes and Yoho National Park are also worth a visit. These less busy areas also have a plethora of great hikes and outdoor activities, pristine lakes, glittering waterfalls, epic views, and rugged mountain beauty.
Since this year is Canada’s 150th birthday, I wanted to do a special series focused on my favorite activities to do in my beautiful home country – hiking! I thought there was no better way to celebrate than to inspire you to get outdoors in the Canadian wilderness and enjoy the fresh mountain air.
Starting May 15 I am going to be posting about one of my favorite hikes each week for 15 weeks, along with awesome mountain photography and other Canadian travel guides.
Stay tuned for #mountainmondays!
